Run. Lift. Shoot. Be the Other Guy.
Honoring the Fallen by Living a Standard of Excellence
There’s a reason I say run, lift, shoot. It’s not just a workout philosophy—it’s a way of life. A daily practice of discipline, strength, and skill. It’s how I make sure I’m living a life worthy of the freedoms I’ve been given, bought and paid for by those who came before me—and who never made it back.
Memorial Day isn’t about a long weekend. It’s not about BBQs or discounts. It’s about remembering the men and women who gave everything so we could live freely. But memory alone is not enough. We honor them by how we live.
We have to be the other guy.
Who Is the Other Guy?
The other guy doesn’t hit snooze.
He doesn’t make excuses.
He doesn’t take freedom lightly or life for granted.
He trains when it’s inconvenient. He works when it’s uncomfortable. He holds the line when no one’s watching. He’s the man you want standing next to you when the world goes dark.
The other guy isn’t the average man. He’s not afraid to sweat, struggle, or sacrifice. He’s built on discipline, forged through hardship, and driven by a mission bigger than himself.
The other guy is who we all should strive to become.
Run.
Because life is a race, and if you’re not moving forward, you’re falling behind. Running isn’t just cardio—it’s capacity. Mental, physical, and spiritual. The willingness to push when your legs burn and your lungs scream. You run because warriors don’t wait to be chased—they lead the charge.
Lift.
Because strength is your duty. Not for vanity, but for capability. You lift so you can carry the load when others can’t. You build your body to withstand life’s weight, and to bear the burden of responsibility, leadership, and protection.
Shoot.
Because skill matters. Because in a world that’s unpredictable, the man who is trained is the man who is ready. Shooting is about precision, control, confidence—and respect for the responsibility that comes with it.
Why It Matters Now
We are living in a time of comfort and compromise. But those who came before us lived in war, sacrifice, and service. Many died so we wouldn’t have to. So we can’t squander what they paid for. We don’t honor the fallen by being average. We honor them by living a life of excellence. By holding the standard. By becoming a man of action, not words.
This Memorial Day, don’t just wave a flag.
Be the flag.
Stand for something.
Move with purpose.
Train with intensity.
Live with integrity.
Run. Lift. Shoot. Be the other guy.
Because they gave everything.
Now it’s our turn to give our best.
