Be The Outlier
This past Saturday morning, I was hitting mitts with one of my guys.
We had randomly run into each other the weekend before at a Spartan Race and agreed — it was time to throw hands again.
Mid-round, he said something that’s been echoing in my head ever since:
“Daniel, you’re one of the outliers.”
I looked at him — a bit puzzled — waiting for him to explain.
He told me I’m one of the few who are truly driven.
Always seeking growth. Always in the trenches, not just when it’s convenient — but all the time. We were surrounded by a ranch full of savages who paid hundreds of dollars, drove for hours, and still — I stood out to him.
Not because I’m faster or stronger — but because I don’t do this for show.
I don’t show up for applause.
I show up for war — the internal kind.
Every run, every obstacle, every round is for me.
And yet, while I’m out there, I’m collecting souls. I’m pulling others through the next obstacle. I’m out there giving and grinding. That’s the standard I hold.
And he was right.
I spend every day becoming a sharper, more dangerous version of myself. I study my flaws. I face setbacks and injuries with no drama — just adjustments. Assess. Respond. Keep moving. That’s how I live.
Then this morning, I heard the word again on a podcast:
Outlier.
The unbalanced, obsessive individual who never turns it off.
The person with a relentless pursuit of a goal.
The one who, at 11:00 p.m., sits down on a bathroom floor wrapped in a towel to write a blog because he knows if he waits until morning — the thought will be gone.
I am him. And I love it.
Outlier
A person or thing differing from all others in a group or set.
Once I saw the definition, it all started to click.
Years of putting in the work when no one’s watching brought me here.
People tell me I’m intense. Some even say I’m a masochist.
And you know what? They’re not wrong.
I’ve had a friend call me his favorite masochist — I used to deny it, but the truth is:
I love the suffering.
I love the rain.
I love running down a major highway while people stare like I’m insane — because I am. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
That discomfort? It feeds me.
Growth doesn’t come from comfort.
Comfort is the birthplace of mediocrity.
Pain, discomfort, pressure — that’s where strength is forged.
When conditions suck, when everything’s falling apart — my focus tightens. My execution sharpens. And I come alive.
These are the skills that built my life.
They weren’t given — they were earned.
And the same tools are available to anyone willing to suffer for something greater.
If you’ve followed my journey, you’ve seen this truth weaved into everything I create.
Every product I release is born from this fire.
That’s where The Outlier Line came from — the mindset, the suffering, the obsession.
T-shirts, hats, drinkware — they all represent the life we live.
Because this isn’t just merch.
It’s a movement. A mentality. A mission.
This morning, I opened my phone to finish Chapter 6 of my book and found this original blog entry I wrote months ago. It brought me back to a memory — 10th grade, football game three.
One of my teammates missed his assignment and blamed the ref for being in the way.
My only response?
“Then run that motherfucker over.”
That mentality has never left me.
If something is in your way — a ref, a person, a problem, a weakness — and it’s standing between you and your purpose?
Run that motherfucker over.
Make damn sure it never stands in your way again.
For all the savages who’ve lost their place on the path — this is for you.
We are different by design.
Society tried to tame us.
Tried to domesticate the hunger.
Tried to shame the fire in our gut.
But we are still here.
And we are here to raise the bar and set the standard.
To reject mediocrity.
To lead from the front.
To be the change we want to see in this soft-ass world.
Be who you were meant to be.
Be the Outlier.
Never settle.
Day One is Today.
“One Day” is never the right answer.
Get the fuck after it — and hold the line.
